Ballet class while in Paris

My 14 year old daughter is a ballet student, and would like the experience of taking class (intermediate) while visitng Paris. Any suggestions?

You should look at the ballet school on Rue Cherchi Midi in the St Germaine area. The owner is American and her husband is a native Parisian. They have run the school for 20 years or so and have two young daughters. The studio is beautiful. Good luck and enjoy your Paris visit.

Does she know French? Becuase the classes will be in French, of course. Now I've taken a lot of ballet so I know that won't be crucial since the terms are French and you can figure out the exercises at the barre quickly just be watching what others do, or the teacher demonstrating.

But the big issue is that no place will allow a drop-in except some neighborhood studio, she won't be going to the Paris Opera Ballet school or anything like that. And studios that allow that usually only have that for adults, they don't allow children to do drop-in classes (at least not in any studio where I've ever studied). I think the place mentioned by nini (American Academy of Dance or something) will not allow drop-ins.

The Centre de Danse du Marais does allow single classes, I think, you can check (and if it's okay for a 14 yr old to go, it might be). I'm not sure they even have ballet, but that's another thing to check, they have alot of modern and other kinds of dance. I think this is it http://www.paris-danse.com

I am no expert on ballet in Paris, but often take dance & exercise classes of various kinds when I travel. I'd just start with a Google search online, find ballet studios in the area you will be staying, and send them each emails asking if drop-in classes are available and appropriate for a 14 years old intermediate student.

She took a couple of classes at the Institut International de Danse Janine Stanlowa. 16€ each class. She enjoyed them. Madelina
