Ballater accommodation
I need personal recommendations for B&B's or guest houses in Ballater, Aberdeenshire. Thanks!

I will be staying at the Balgonie House in August. I have not stayed there before. I have done research and it appears to be quite nice. They have a web page (sorry I don't have the address available at this point but just do a Google search with their name).Friends have stayed there and they rave about it.

I have read sooo many reviews on Balgonie-and would book it in a minute if it weren't for the price. ITs a little steep for us! (i think 135 pounds a night or something?) anyway-let us know how it works out for you!

Ani: Ballater is full of nice B&Bs - I don't think there is a bad one in the village. There are more great B&Bs all along the Dee. I would not worry at all - to keep your options open (just in case you decide to go to D&G afterall or ??). Just go to the Tourist Information Center in Ballater (or Aboyne or Bancory) and they wil find you a B&B in your price range. Or you can go to the TIC in Cupar or Edinburgh before you head north and they will find you a place on the Dee.

You are not going in high season so places will not be booked up.

I don't really know about B&Bs because I don't use them much, but there's a place called the Old Kirk that gets a good name.

If you are going to think about a hotel I would recommend the Glen Lui.

Thank you once again!
