Hi, when will Bahn.com allow people to purchase train tickets? I thought it was 90 days prior to travel - however, we want to book a train on 16 December and we can't purchase the tickets yet. Thanks!

Wait 4 days. For some reason the system can only provide dates up to Dec. 12.

The reason is that the annual change of timetables will be the night 12/13 December - and these new timetables are not online yet. No idea when this is going to happen, but definitely not in the next 4 days.

Booking for the winter timetable starts at 13 October exactly.

Deutsche Bahn are pretty good at keeping you up to speed if you register for email updates- they don't overdo it and you get early warning of ticket reductions (in the last couple of years I've travelled for example from Munich to Hamburg first class on an ICE train for EUR 39 and between Dusseldorf and Munich second class for EUR 29. Prices not to be sniffed at!
