Baggage storage at VCE

We'll be in Venice for 4 days before we get on a cruise ship near Rome. We can get along with 1 small suitcase for Venice but don't want to haul our larger suitcase into our hotel. Is there baggage storage at Marco Polo airport and is it safe?

Kiki - The airport website lists a left luggage store:

(There is also a facility at Venice S.L station ...)

Hope this helps ...

Hi K,

I think that leaving your luggage at the San Lucia train station will be more conveninet than at VCE.

There is a bus from VCE to Piazzale Roma in Venice. It is a short walk to the train station.

Where's your hotel?

With all due respect to our inhouse travel/Florence expert, IRA, the walk from Piazzale Roma to San Lucia train station is not exactly an easy one.

The main obstacle/challenge is the bridge you must cross and with a large suitcase, it's not a lot of fun.

I spent a week in Venice last year and witnessed many tourist struggling going over that bridge with luggage.

Without comparing cost, I can't see how leaving your luggage at the train station is "more convenient" than at the airport, IMO. Have a great trip111 Mike

Hi Mike,

My Lady Wife and I are over 60. We have crossed that bridge, when we came to it, with luggage.

The OP is leaving on a cruise from Venice. Why go back out to the airport just to bring luggage back?

OOOPS,

The OP is leaving on a cruise from Civitavecchia.

Why go out to VCE to bring luggage back to San Lucia station? Especially, since he will probably want to catch the 08:44 out of Mestre.

Yet again I stand corrected!!! Mike
