Baggage Limitations when flying EasyJet?
 

Hello to all,
I'm going to Paris and then flying to Pisa via EasyJet for my Honeymoon... and am just a little stumped as to what we can do about the baggage weight limitations... It's a two week trip and knowing my fiance... our bags are gonna weigh well around 60lbs... not 44lbs- which i think is the max weight were allowed. I looked on the easyjet website under baggage, and found that there's a pre-paid fee you can pay allowing you to have extra check-in baggage which max's your weight limitation to 32kg's per person... but then when I went to buy the tickets and got to the "Hold Baggage and Sports Equipment" section in the side column it says this:
"The total weight allowance for all pieces of checked-in hold baggage is 20 Kg. Excess baggage fees are charged for each Kg exceeding 20 Kg. Bag and sports equipment charges are non-refundable.

Payment of additional hold bag fees does not increase each passenger's free baggage weight allowance of 20 Kg. Excess baggage charges will be payable at the airport if your hold baggage weighs more than 20 Kg in total".

Where as... under their baggage page it says this:
"Payment of the additional fee increases your checked-in hold baggage allowance (including additional item) to a maximum weight of 32kgs.

Where your total checked-in hold baggage weighs more than 32kgs, normal excess baggage charges as set out below shall apply in addition to the above fee".

Can someone please help? Also, do they deny you boarding if your bags are too heavy... if their not the right dimensions or just a little bit bigger? Is something around 60lbs doable? How much would that cost in excess charges? Again thank you ahead of time for all your help! -alo316

So you are going to have two bags over 40KG? Why do you need so much stuff for a two-week trip?

How about also taking a carry-on and putting some of that stuff in your carry-ons to lighten the load?

1) your checked baggage allowance is 20kg PER PERSON

2) anything above that is charged at £6 per kg - £120 for 20kg

3) the heaviest any one bag can be is 32kg - above that and they'll refuse to handle it (breaks UK health & safety rules)

4) if you have enough money - and bags - you can check up to 50kg PER PERSON but you'll be stuffed for £180 of excess baggage fees

5) HOWEVER for selected sports equipment you can pay a fee that takes your total allowance up to 32kg without excess baggage charges

Remember EasyJet has done away with weight limit for carry-ons, provided you can lift it and put it in the overhead bin without assistance. EU airports do impose size limit at security check - it's 55 x 40 x 20 cm and they have a size checker as you enter, but I've noticed it isn't always enforced.

You also pay a fee for each bag you have and you can have unlimited cabin baggage weight - but not size - as long as you can lift it

55x40x20 is the Easyjet size limit for hand luggage, not the EU size - for example UK airports (except Stansted) allow 56x45x25
