Baggage hold in St. Malo during layover
We arrive in St. Malo around 1:30pm via ferry from Jersey. We don't board our train to Paris till 4:30pm. Is there anywhere in St. Malo to drop our bags off for a few hours while we walk around town? Any help is greatly appreciated!
cheers, Annie

Normaly, there is in the railway station a service which can keep the luggage for
some hours, with or without fee...
In Vannes, it exists..
In Saint Malo, I don't know...
Now, with the terrorist alert of today, did those services be allowed??
Erik.

France is one of the worst countries in Europe for left luggage. The restriction is imposed by the police, so it can be very difficult to find anywhere which is allowed to keep luggage. The restriction is daft: it is possible to put a much bigger bomb in a car, so a restriction on storing luggage would only make sense if cars were banned as well.
The old town of St-Malo is only a short walk from the ferry terminal so, if you have to wait with your luggage, it would be better to wait there (you could have a late lunch, perhaps) before getting a bus or taxi to the station.
