Bad Wildungen spas

Ever been to a spa in Bad Wildungen? I am reserved at Maritim. How is the service? What to do locally while not being pampered?
Many thanks!

I hate to see a message go unanswered. Unfortunately, you are in territory where very very few tourists, myself included, have been.

From my atlas I suggest you quickly develop a love of hiking, as there appears to be a most attractive area close to Bad W. called the Eder Dam Reserve.

The nearest large town, Kassel, was blown to bits during the war - but there is a very important art gallery there (do a Google search). A number of smaller towns in the vicinity are marked as worth a visit: Fritzlar, Korbach, Melsungen.

Sorry I can't help with spa details.

Hi! About 2 years ago, while living in Germany back then, we went to B Wildungen for a 3-day health & sports weekend thing. We really really enjoyed it. The park ("Kurpark") was lush and green, which made for long walks/jogs. The town itself was also nice - at night there were a few bars/pubs, where you could sit outside and have a few drinks. Didn't stay at the Maritim, but there was one fancier property in town - don't recall the name, but I'm thinking that's it... The food was included in our package, and was superb!!!

On the way up we checked out Marburg, which I think is less than 1 hour away. Also a very nice town off the beaten path, with a medieval center and a castle on the hilltop - definitely worth a visit.

Hope this helps!!

I should add that we were there in May, so that the weather was sunny and warm - plenty of opportunity to sunbathe. We also went mountain biking, which was great.

Many thanks for your comments. I look forward to visiting a place where "very very few tourists" have been. I'll bring hiking shoes!
