Back to Provence - need hotel recommendation near Nice for last night

I didn’t think we were going to be able to take a trip this year, as next year we're doing something really special and we need to save our pennies & miles…. but …

We are so lucky! Last spring (2009), we rented a villa in Montauroux from some friends; unbeknownst to us, each year they drop the names of everyone who rented their house into a hat, and they draw one name. This lucky person/couple/group gets to use the villa the next year for free. And, yep! It was US! Yahoooooo! This is a link to the house: http://tinyurl.com/y9r3shk. And this is a link to some photos from last year’s trip in this area: http://tinyurl.com/yfoqgad

We’re flying over on miles (AA, off peak, economy), and we have the house for free. We can be in the house for 7 nights; but the only flights I could make work are for 8 nights. So, I’m looking for recommendations for a charming hotel/chateau/bed & breakfast somewhere near the Nice airport, with a nice sea view, perhaps? It can be up to an hour away from the airport. I would like to keep the budget to under €200, including breakfast.
Thanks for any and all help!

Hotel Suisse has a great location and seaview and would be perfect for your last night, it is in the Old Town.Hotel Welcome is also nice...both should be under 200 Euros.

We stayed at Hotel la Grande Bastide Saint Paul de Vence. Beautiful view of the sea. might be a little more than you want but i would check it out.

another great place to stay besides Saint Paul de Vence is Mougins. Both are close to Nice.

Head up to Le Hameau, a very charming small inn just below St-Paul-de-Vence (about a 20-minute drive to the airport, depending on traffic). We've stayed there a number of times, loved it, recommended it to friends who also loved it. There's an infinity pool from which you can look out to the Mediterranean. All the rooms are different; here's a link to the hotel:

St Paul is a good idea as it is easy to get to the airport - easier than being in the city of nice, depending on the time of day you need to be at the airport

We loved Villa St Maxime - great views from the villa, an easy walk to the village and wonderful breakfast.

Oh, these ALL look wonderful! It's fun to have a decision like this to make.

gaelle, because of the time we're going, Hotel la Grande Bastide may fit in our budget - they have an off-season rate that may work.

So, I'll start doing the comparisons, and will report back which we choose.

Because I have lots of time yet, more recommendations are warmly welcomed!

Thanks so much -

The hotel I have posted as my "favorite hotel anywhere" is the Hotel Welcome in Villefranche sur Mer: http://www.welcomehotel.com/

It's an easy drive back to the Nice airport, well under an hour.
