Well, anything close to treacherous is certainly not in our plans so we will stick to the south side......if at all. The south side road doesn't follow the gorge until just past Aiguines so I assume the driving is not so bad. But it is a half hour from Moustiers to the first look-out and that will probably add an hour and a half to the day. I'm starting to doubt if it is worth the trouble. Perhaps our time is better served in Moustiers or towns along the way.

Or just stay in the Luberon around Lourmarin. No need to drive almost 2 hrs one-way just to visit Moustiers. If you have my 35 page Provence/Cote d'Azur itinerry - do some of the "local" stuff. If you don't have a copy, e-mail me at [email protected] & I'll attach one to the reply e-mail. Stu Dudley |
Yes thank you Stu, I have your itinerary. That's where I came across the idea of Moustiers. I will review your notes again and come up with something more suitable. Appreciate your advice.

I was waiting until next week for the 90 day period to book TGV tickets for mid July, but when I checked the Captaine Train website, tickets were already on sale. Has there been a change to the sale dates?

Don't know if you'll even see this, but you might consider a day trip from Lourmarin to Cassis, a beautiful fishing port. You can take a boat ride through the calanques, fjord-like inlets in the cliffs that are just gorgeous. Touristy, yes, but then there's a reason places become popular, isn't there?!
