marcolinsoej... Sorry, hit wrong button. In response to your 'serious question' about men/boys/girls/women holding hands or fingers. The 1st time we saw this (Over a year ago), we wondered too. Everywhere in Turkey, you will see 18 year old men, for example, ....both arms around each other and some times in each others back pockets, especially on the black sea and non-tourist areas. This is NO DIFFERENT for them than Amerikans shaking hands. Everywhere, you see this affection. Don't worry. They are not Gay or Lesbo. We are so used to it that we don't even make comments about it any more. What is still very strange to us though, is Daddys kissing and holding there children like they were Gold! It always warms our hearts, almost as much as seeing 2 teenage boys or girls walking down the street holding hands or with their arms around each other. ***Every time we see this GREAT display of affection, we still comment "God, if you did that in America, you would get beaten". Also, it is not uncommon to see several 16 year old school boys walking to school with an arm full of freshly picked wild-flowers (and smelling them) ready to give them to their teachers.
Hope this helped, because for the outside eye, it's a real culture shock.
