Dear Emily,<BR>We stayed at the Hotel Spadari al Duomo in Milan, a small modern art "boutique" hotel steps away from the Duomo. We enjoyed visiting the Duomo museum, the Brera Gallery, and strolling about the shopping district. I would not recommend the Leonardo da Vinci science museum unless you understand Italian (no English descriptions anywhere). Also, make reservations early on to see the Last Supper. La Scala was unfortunately still under renovation when we went in May, but it would have been nice to see an opera.<BR>Have a wonderful trip!<BR>Kindest regards,<BR>Susan

Oh, did you find it difficult to drive in italy? My travel agent suggest we pick up a car in Verona and drive to Portovenere. I weary of getting lost. You think we'll be ok?

Regarding your question on driving in Liguria, my husband and I unfortunately drove only in Tuscany and Orvieto. Portovenere seems very romantic!
