Dear Emily,
We stayed at the Hotel Spadari al Duomo in Milan, a small modern art "boutique" hotel steps away from the Duomo. We enjoyed visiting the Duomo museum, the Brera Gallery, and strolling about the shopping district. I would not recommend the Leonardo da Vinci science museum unless you understand Italian (no English descriptions anywhere). Also, make reservations early on to see the Last Supper. La Scala was unfortunately still under renovation when we went in May, but it would have been nice to see an opera.
Have a wonderful trip!
Kindest regards,
Susan

HI Susan,
What a great report! Thank you, thank you, thank you!. My fiance and I are planning to wed in Portovenere and visit Rome, Venice, Verona, and Florence (13 days/12 nights total). You have give me so much to see and do, I'm wondering if we will have enough time to see and do everything. Thanks for the heads up on the meals in Venice. This is exactly the information we need.

Juawana.

Oh, did you find it difficult to drive in italy? My travel agent suggest we pick up a car in Verona and drive to Portovenere. I weary of getting lost. You think we'll be ok?

Thanks Susan for the Milan recommendations. Unfortunately, the hotel you styaed at is already booked for when we're there. :o( Hopefully something else will appear!

Dear Emily:
I hope you have a wonderful time in Milan. On a side note, a great delicatessen near the Duomo is Peck.

Dear J.A.:
Congratulations and best wishes for a happy life together. Regarding your question on driving in Liguria, my husband and I unfortunately drove only in Tuscany and Orvieto. Portovenere seems very romantic!
