Baby cot
 

Traveling to Paris with my two year old next week and have requested a baby cot everywhere we are staying. Do you think it will be a baby crib or a pack n play? Trying to figure out if I should take my own sheet for it.

Any answer will be conjecture, so how will that help.

1. Ask the people providing it.

MmePerdu is correct on both accounts. Now this was just over 20 years ago when we took our then 13 month to France and Italy -- some hotels had a whole wooden baby crib and others had the portable what you refer to as pack n play crib.

I did ask, and they did tell me. And we brought a sheet and a little blanket -- neither of which took up much room.

Are you afraid they won't have sheets? Or do you want to bring a sheet and want to know which to bring?

In our experience we got both, sometimes a smaller version of a crib, sometimes a pack and play (the worst was the time the pack and play had a zip out exit - luckily our kid didn't figure it out before we noticed).

We always had sheets provided.

I was thinking of bringing sheets as my son has sensitive skin, and while it may seem like no big deal to throw it in. They do take up space, and since it's just me as pack mule, I'd rather not.

I was just really wondering if the term baby cot = baby crib. If it doesn't,mono big deal.

Whenever we travelled with out daughter they provided us with a foldable (i.e. travel) cot, and we brought her own little fleecy blanket and two muslins (used a lot by parents in Australia to swaddle baby, wipe up vomit, shade or cover baby). We probably would have brought those anyway (soft fleecy blanket on the plane is a must) but are perfectly good used for bedding in an emergency. Some hotels provided bedding anyway - why not ask the hotels / apartments concerned?

Do you use sleeping bags for your son?

When we traveled with our toddler in Europe we always brought our own portable baby crib. It was actually a fold-up net style play pen that served us well. Sold it or gave it away when the daughter grew out of it so I can't give you a brand name.

I thought I'd update this in case anyone else is searching for this info. I did not take a baby bed with me though maybe I took a sheet. Every place we stayed had a baby cot to use and they were definitely different sizes than both US crib size and a U.S. pack n play. They were longer and skinnier. All came with sheets.

I usually carry my own sheets and blankets for my baby while staying out of home.It is always preferable to apply our own things especially for baby's as they have sensitive skin.View some baby products at http://www.hugabub.com/
