Hi Abra -
We stayed at Danabel 2 years ago, and would not recommend it, rooms are small, and I had the feeling that we were not wanted. Itys not right in town either by the way. Last November I stayed @ Kieranys Folkhouse, itys right in the center of town on Guardwell over a pub/restaurant, itys a 3-star hotel, not a b&b, but they do have great packages, (2 nights B&B + dinner). Although I didnyt like the stay last November (traveling w/my family), I gave them a try a few weeks ago (traveling alone) and it was much better. |
abra, Danabel is recommended by THE IRELAND EXPERT http://www.irelandexpert.com/kinsale-bandbs.htm. I do not know if THE IRELAND EXPERT has stayed there but you can aks her.

That's too bad you had a bad experience at the Danabel in Kinsale because my daughter and I loved it. We especially liked the comfortable beds and linens. The owner was very nice and accommodating. The only problem I would mention is even though it's only located a block or two from town center, it's situated on a hill and could be a problem for the elderly.

We stayed at the Old Presbytery in Kinsale last week (recommended by Fodors and Ireland Expert). The beds were soooooo comfortable, owners very nice and a great location. Walked everywhere (Kinsale is pretty small anyway).
