B and B's in Ireland

I have narrowed down the areas I will be visiting and would like suggestions for B and B's in Kilkenny, Killarney, and Westport.

You have several responses on your other threads. Maybe you should top one of them instead of starting a new thread.

In any case, w/o knowing your budget it is hard to give any sort of useful advice.

We loved Adare House on Quay Road in Westport. www.adarehouse.net

Margaret is great, the location is wonderful (about halfway between the city centre and the harbour area) and we really enjoyed the breakfasts in their lovely breakfast room (windows on all sides, beautiful views). Also the rooms were nice and bright and a little larger than many B&B rooms.

I would like to stay in the range of 35-40 Euros per night.

Kilkenny we stayed at Bregagh house and it was fine. Across the street from St. Canice's Cathedral but I hear wonderful things about Alcantra B&B.

Killarney-
current plans to stay at Ross Castle House but the other popular ones I looked at and hear mentioned quite a bit are:
Friar's Glen
Carriglea
Crystal Springs

Westport- will be staying at the Boulevard Guesthouse but it was a close call with Adare House too!

To get into Alcantra, you have to say Michele Erdvig sent you. Otherwise, it's not an option. Laragh House in Kilkenny is nice too.

I like to stay out of town in the countryside. Near Westport I stayed at Tighbeag which I liked and had wonderful views.

You do not have to mention anyone's name to stay at Alcantra. We stayed there last fall along with our British friends. We simply made reservations via their website.

Actually, it is true, they are beginning to pare down their B&B and are only taking specific bookings either returning clientele or on referral from Michele at Irelandyes.com.

I am not sure about Kilkenny and Westport, but I am staying in a place called Farmstead Lodge in Beaufort right by Killarney. It's 25.50 euros per person. They have a website with a lot of photos and information: http://homepage.eircom.net/~farmsteadlodge/index.html
