B&B pricing for single
 

Husband, adult daughter and I are considering a trip to Ireland this March. A recent post mentions that pricing of B&Bs is per person, about 30 euros pp. Could we get 2 rooms for 3 people for 100 - 120 Euro? Don't mind sharing a room with daughter but think we will need 3 beds to be comfortable. thanks for help. I was in the middle of planning a trip to California when I checked and found we can fly to Ireland for only $100 more!

You should have no trouble getting the two rooms for 3 people at around 110-120 Euro. Go on the Town and Country Homes web site or just Google " B&B Ireland" and and you will be able to search hundred of B&B's. March is not the High season so you should be able to have the pick of the lot. When you see a rate posted the single supplement rate will be for the single room. Have fun

At least in the UK, B&B charge per person. If they charge 30 euro per person, they shouldn't charge you more than 90 for three. In fact, many provide a small discount for 2 people in a room, so those two should be charged a little less, say 28 euro per.

You shouldn't have any problem finding what you need in March. Just do some research: when you arrive, call B&B's a day in advance. I have stayed at several that had a single room and others that had what they call 'family rooms.' Buy an Eircom Phone Card (the kind with the I/C chip on the card).

When I asked for my daughter & family Marjorie, at BrigOwn B&B in Ballina said she could make a 'package deal:' her B&B has 1-double, 1-twin double and 1-single.

Don't buy vouchers! You can probably do better with cash; and many B&B owners don't like to take vouchers.

If you fly into Shannon, I recommend Rose Cottage B&B for your first night stay. Ask for the family room on the ground floor (it's away from the Pub). They checked us in at 9:30 AM when we got there from the airport and we took about a 3-hour nap to get over our jetlag.

I don't know about off-season but you may have to pay 35 Euro pps at most B&B's in 2006.

Our plans have changed and we will not be able to do this trip this spring. We hope to do this trip in the next year or two.
