B&B Peterson/Cassia in Florence

I will be in Florence from October 1st thru October 13th. I inquired at B&B Peterson because Ira highly recommends it (especially if you’re on a budget…which I am). They don’t have any availability for my dates at the Peterson, but do have availability at the other location Cassia which is about one block away. Has anyone stayed at the Cassia and if so how does it compare to the Peterson?

Thank you.

There are a slew of inexpensive B&B's and 1 star hotels in Florence. Most of them are much more central than the Peterson or the Cassia. Why are you limiting your options so narrowly??

Thank you B:

I'm not really limiting my options. I'm still looking at other B&Bs. It's just that Cassia is about 35euros per night which I'm finding is much cheaper than the others I've looked at, although some of the others offer much more than Cassia. I was also going to rent an studio apartment which was 1000euros for the entire length of my trip, but I had a concern about the queen size sofa bed as I have a bad back. I will continue my search before finalizing my pick. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi J,

I haven't stayed at the Cassia, but there have been reports here which were positive.

Have you checked www.tripadvisor.com?

If you do choose the Cassia, please give my regards to the Ancellottis.

Thank you B:

I will look at the link you attached.

Thank you Ira:

I'm actually on TripAdvisor right now. I do like their price 35euros. If I do go with them, will give Ancellottis your regards.

Hi J,

A couple of tips:

There is a cafe where you can get bkfst about 1 blk from the Cassia on the corner of the big intersection at via Marcello.

There is another next door to the Peterson on Guido Monaco.

You can also buy bus tickets at the latter.

There is a phone booth and an ATM on Viale Belfiore just SW of Via Monaco.

You can access the train station from Via G. Monaco - go up the stairs to the rear of the station.

There is a major bus stop in front of the Peterson - 4 or 5 routes.

Enjoy your visit.

Thank you Ira.

While I'm still looking for more lodgings, I'm leaning more towards staying here (Cassia) more for the cost than anything else. Most of the other ones that I look at either are out of my budget or don't have any availability on my dates.

Are you ok with emailing your credit card information or should I just call them with my information?

Hi J,

>Are you ok with emailing your credit card information

I send the full info in 2 emails.

>or should I just call them with my information?

That's better. You can also ask them any questions that you might have. Mrs A speaks English very well.

Ira:

>send the full info in 2 emails

I think I'll send my information that way...I'll feel more comfortable doing it that way.

Thank you.
