Hi, Linda
I can look at my info and send the name of our guide in York. She was a lovely woman, full of great stories and information. I am sure she would pass along the name of a B&B. If you had the time, her guided walk was great.

If you have not been to an Evensong, I would suggest doing so at the York Minster. We sat with the boys choir. It was a lovely experience. You need to be there early enough to be at the front of the line, (45 minutes prior should be enough). The line forms inside and if there are two of you, one can reserve your place in line and the other view this beautiful Cathedral and it's cloisters.
York offers wonderful little shops. I wandered into a wonderful fabric shop and purchased a couple of yards of fabric that I had never seen here in the States, and had a great "English" look to them (Heraldic Shields..., Crests, etc.), and found a Stencil shop that was filled with some of the most beautifully designed stencils. The shop is worth visiting just to see their work.
Well, as you can see I found York enchanting. You may know all these things already, I guess I just got caught up in reliving my experience.
Do email me is you want the guide's name, and email address. It will take me a day or two to locate.
Gloria
