This past April we stayed at the Hotel Am Dom. It is a small, 3 star hotel located on Goldgasse. Wonderful location. We had a large, triple room. We paid less than 100 EUR a night, which included breakfast. I loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Check out the Goldenen Ente also on Golgasse. Great location.

We stayed at the Hotel Trumer-Stube in the old town in April. It was great and Sylvia and Giovanni are the owners who were so helpful and friendly. Only 90 euros a night for a very comfortable quiet room including a good breakfast. Good location, only 10 min walk from train station. Their e mail address is
[email protected] I highly recommend this place.

Hi, we had a very pleasant stay Hotel Gablerbrau (www.gablerbrau.com), just north of the river, but 2 minutes from a bridge. Just around the corner fro Mozart's house (one of them).
Have a great time, Salzburg is GORGEOUS.
