B&B in rome, florence and venice

Note that B&B's are the preferred places to stay in Italy nowdays. Anyone has information on cheap (<$60) B&B's in Rome, Florence or Venice. Would appreciate any information. Is booking on the internet cheaper than phone booking?

Hi Wilbur,
We are staying at a B&B called the Domus Julia in Rome in 3 weeks time, don't know what it's like but have heard good write-ups on it and also looks good on the url. We booked directly with them via e-mail and they were very helpfull, even sending detailed information on all the options on how to get to them from the station and airport. Their rates seem very reasonable too. Check them out at http://www.hoteljulia.it/domusjulia/b&b/index.html
Good luck.

If someone offers you info on a B&B in Venice for under $60, you might want to see if it's a Benedictine&Brandy!

In Fiesole, on a hill overlooking Florence is the Pensione Bencista. Stayed for a week in '97..incredible value and GREAT food. Right on busline to town. Amazing view and gardens.
