minto, while there is much I could say in repsonse to your post, all I will say is that I have to have some way of justifying my addiction to Fodor's! :D

The Central is an okay hotel in a good location. Tell her to look for a meal nearby in Fallon & Byrne, upstairs over the Food Hall in Exchequer Street. It might stretch, but not burst, her budget.

Thanks, Padraig! Judging from the price, we knew it wouldn't be luxurious. But then that's not what she was looking for. I'm really glad to know that it is okay though and is in a good location.
Thanks for the restaurant recommendation! I'm going to email you on your website right now. Between the problems with our internet and all of the last minute running around, I haven't been able to get to it. |
There are lots of small sandwich shops in the area of the hotel and it is close to Grafton street. She will not starve and she has someone with her who will eat I am sure :-)

Yep, Siobhan, the woman who's meeting her at the airport is planning to go to dinner with her. The hotel provides breakfast and they're heading for Galway bright and early the next morning. So she'll be fine.
However, she'll be back in Dublin (as will I), so we really appreciate as many recommendations for places to eat, pubs, B&Bs as we can get!;) |
Hi I'm travelling to Ireland myself and was very interested in the suburbs of Dublin for accommodation for my family. Great tips. I've just emailed the Applewood SiobhanP. thanks. cheers.Rosie
