Awaiting a new trip report to the UK ......anyone???
I love reading detailed trip reports. It seems ages since a new one has been on this forum. Is it only me getting impatient? We leave in 5 weeks and I've read and reread all the reports I can find. Surely someone has recently returned and just needs a little 'nudge' to get started?

On the subject of trip reports - if everyone loves reading them - how about a few words of comment when you have read them.
The Editors have stated that some reports receive 1000 plus views but receive 3 comments. Leaves you wondering why you bothered writing the report when hardly anyone responds.

hi there Noe847. Off on a driving holiday (no accommodation booked!!) to the UK. Leave on May 2 back home June 5. We've 'done' London, now we want to see some more of the UK. Can't wait and yes I will write a report.
Markrosy, I try to leave comments when reading reports. If there 'old' ones I've found I sometimes worry about bringing them to the top in case no longer 'relevant info'.

Hi Aussiedreamer - I just moved to London (yesterday!) to begin a six month expat assignment. I've been posting a bit in the lounge. I'm living in Chelsea and am looking forward to being a tourist during the weekends. I'll also be looking for trip reports!

Lizziea06, how exciting. I'm stuck in 'downtown Brisbane'. Chelsea sounds so much more exciting!!
I think any trip report is helpful. I find its sometimes the little comments that really help, so ctoner, I say go for it.

We're off to the UK in April. After 3 nights we'll take Eurostar to Paris for 5 nights and then return for a week in London.
I'm hoping to fly back to Boston on May 3rd but it depends if our visas are ready by then...
So, we have big plans for Paris but not much of an itinerary for London apart from catching up with friends and family. I'm going to the Tutankhamen exhibition and we hope to check out this place for the first time...

Personally, I'd rather not see a tail of comments on reports that, however complimentary, don't actually add anything (in the way that a follow-up question might). The absence of comments doesn't mean the information isn't appreciated.

I have a different view than PatrickLondon re trip reports.
I personally appreciate hearing comments along the way because there have been times when I have seriously wondered why I was bothering. Perhaps that is my own shortcoming but I can say this, that if I appreciate something I make sure someone knows it.

I'm afraid this summer's trip will be too late for you - I leave in June for three weeks in the highlands of Scotland. However, I have old ones for you to read. I've posted them here in the past, but they are easier to find (and has photos) on my webpage:

My local chippy in the village of Chalford (south Cotswolds) is the aptly named Fish Inn. It's just along from the Old Neighbourhood pub.
Have a great trip, and if you find yourself in the neighbourhood so to speak, I'll come and have a beer with you! I met Elendil Pickle and her husband last summer for supper in a pub a few miles across the valley... she posted a great trip report, hope you've read it. (Hi Lee Ann!)
