Avoiding queues (lines) at the Louvre

Hi, I plan to go to the exhibition of the Belles Heures du Duc de Berry manuscript at the Louvre next Wednesday, does anyone have any tips on whether the Porte des Lions entrance or Carrousel entrance (or some other entrance?) is best for avoiding long lines? I tried today to obtain a ticket in advance from FNAC, but I am eligible for free entry and they apparently won't give those out in advance, so I will have to get it on the day. Thanks!

We ike he Carousel de Louvre entrance and there is a ticket machine if you need it right outside the door and it taks us credit cards but if you can get a free ticket you probably will have to enter the museum first . Never waited in line more than 5 minutes and the ticket windows hardly have lines at all. It is security that is the hold up at the entrances
