Avignon - has it been hit by recent flood?

We are leaving for Avignon this Sunday, Sept. 16. Just read about the flash floods in the area.

We are planning to take the TGV from Paris to Avignon. We are planning to rent a car and spend two weeks in the Provence and Cote Azur
area.

I am hoping someone who recently returned from the area can give me an idea of what to expect. Thanks in advance.

Avignon is unaffected.

There is some minor flooding along the river - but the city itself is fine. And all the rivers are back where they're supposed to be now...

PB

I just came back 2 weeks ago from a 7 day driving tour of Provence (also started off from Avignon), and it was all very dry (except for one-half day of heavy rain that made the driving quite challenging).

The new Avignon train station doesn't have any lockers to store your bags, so if you need to wait a few hours before your train comes, then leave your bags with the car rental people like we did.

- Ray

Please disregard my last post, I didn't realize the flooding happened just over the past few days.

- Ray
