Austria honeymoon December
 

Hello,

We are looking for to travel to Austria for our honeymoon starting from 18 December 2017.

Could you recommend cities to visit and which shall be best for skiing.

I was thinking of Vienna Salzburg Hallstatt and skiing location and fly Barcelona for New Year’s Eve!

Please give me your most recommended place. We looking to go easy and not too much tour kinda.

Vienna has spectacular NYE celebrations in which the entire city participates.

Most NYE celebrations in Spain are subdued, and this year, with all the political divisions in Barcelona, it's unclear what to expect in terms of pubic gatherings.

If you you think it would be fun to hop on a plane from Austria and include another possibly warmer destinations for a big NYE celebration, consider going to Napoli in Italy, which puts on a huge fireworks display. If there are no direct flight from Austria to Napoli, you can fly to Rome & take a train to Napoli very easily. If you decide to go to Napoli it is best to book a hotel or restaurntwith a view of the fireworks rather than get caught up in the huge crowds in the streets.

If you've never been to a European NYE celebration in the streets, please be aware that many can get quite raucous, with public drunkeness, throwing of bottles & objects, and in recent years, nationalist conflicts and harassments of women. This has happened in a variety of European cities, so whichever city you choose, think about finding a well-controlled space where you can enjoy the festivities rather than being caught up in crowds in a city you don't know. Be sure to stay close together!
