Austria czech republic itinerary

Hi , me and my husband are planning a trip to Europe in mid September for 17 nights. We are flying in and out of Vienna as we got a good deal for flight. I had to select between Hungary, Czech Republic and Austria. So this what i have planned
Cesky Krumlov 2 nights
Prague 5 nights with 2 days trip
1 night Bohemia Paradise which town to stay?? Or shld we do a day trip from prague
Salzburg 2 nights
2 nights lake district ( Hallstatt or St Gilgen or St Wolfgang)
2 night Zell am see or anything else
vienna 3 nights with day trip to Melk Abbey and Danube Wachau valley

We will be using public transport and we are more of nature lover than history lover
Open for suggestions and also if I am missing on anything worth doing please mention that also...

Too quick for me. You have allowed only 1 day for Prague and 1 for Vienna - not nearly enough to see either one. I would do at least 3 days (4 nights) in each - with day trips ON TOP of that. So either drop day trips from those cities or remove some of your secondary places.

I agree with nytraveler. That would be too much for me. Are you allowing any time at all for traveling, checking out of one hotel, and checking into the next hotel? Even aside from that, it's just too much.

Its just we have less days and have to fit in that....also can opt out for zell am see and increase the day in prague and vienna ....also can you please suggest if Bohemia pardise is better as day trip or stay in any town???

Honestly, September weather in the Lake District and Hallstatt can be cold and rainy or postcard-perfect (we've experienced both); you may find yourself staring at a fogged-in lake from your Gasthaus and wishing you were elsewhere.

With 17 days, you can easily make an enjoyable itinerary in Vienna (5 nights with day trips), Salzburg (3 nights), Prague (5 nights with day trips) and Cesky Krumlov with Ceske Budjovice (2 nights). I would recommend to drop Zell am See and the Lake District.

Thank u soo much [email protected] be going ahead with your itinerary...can you suggest me for two things....bohemia paradise and grossglocker road...???? Is it worth and doable in this itnerary????

Others will have to chime in on the Großglockner as a day trip from Salzburg; we have not yet driven that route. If you find yourself with a beautiful weather day, the drive is manageable in a long day from Salzburg, though.

Bohemia Paradise is not far from Prague by private vehicle; transit times via train or bus may be longer. Personally, we like Bohemia Paradise, but we live in Vienna and have had the last three years to explore Central Europe. I would recommend roughing out an itinerary for Prague that includes everything you want to see and do, and then prioritize your activities. The Bohemian Paradise, for example, requires considerable walking; it will be important to plan clothing and footwear accordingly--flip flops or cheap sneakers will not work.

Hope this helps.
