Austerlitz

When we visit Vienna next summer we would like to make a day trip to the battlesite of Austerlitz. Has anyone here been there? Was it worthwhile? Is this a feasible daytrip?

Thanks,

Robert

Interesting, I just read an article on that in the last couple of days. I"m searching for it now...Battle of the three emperors...

I find visiting battlegrounds interesting. I've been to 3 other Napoleonic battlesites: Waterloo, Jena, and the "Battle of the Nations" in Leipzig. I think it should be relatively easy to visit Austerlitz from Vienna.

Hi RB,

www.mappy.com says it's about 3 1/2 hr by car from Vienna.

Thanks for that URL, Ira. It's much slower going than I imagined, apparently, since it is only about 75 miles away. This will require a rethink.
