What kind of weather shold we expect to have in UK during August?

check weather underground That being said truly almost anthing can happen.
|
Probably hot (by UK standards - 20-25C), possibly sticky, possibly down right wet. You probably won't get snow though

where? Cornwall or Shetland?

Melissa: You've asked some questions ("what to do the first day", "what is the weather like") w/o giving us the details we need. Like sheila says - WHERE in the UK? Makes a very big difference.
That being said, most places you can expect any sort of weather - often all on the same day. |
It could be 90 and humid in London. It could be 50 and rainy in Scotland.
It could be almost anything - and if you're in the UK for a while it will be. |
Sunny spells and brigh spots not unlikely weather reports any time of year. When the sun pops out for a few seconds the temps rise 10 degrees inflating daily highs - it could be hot in British parlance but not in American- 90 degrees is very unusual so is 80 degrees in my many years of doing summer bike trips with groups in UK - could also be very cool - 50s and rainy in any area. yes some parts of UK weather suck a bit less than others - lots of towns claiming to have Britain's best weather - Torquay, west coast towns, heard this is Hastings, Eastbourne, Folkstone, Bournemouth, etc. Be prepared for anything and especially rain - not a hard rain but a constant drizzle is more usual. Average rain per year in London is less than Rome but the number of days of wet weather is far greater!
