When it rains in Norway (and nearby Scandavian countries) is it more frequently a light rain or heavy?

You would understand the comment if you could comprehend the fact that posters are trying to point out that statistic are averages and with climate change the averages are wildly exceeded recorded extremes.

We are clearly lt trying to say that be extremes are the norm, simply that they happen.

As ever you've offered nothing other than criticise what others have posted.

Best advice is for Northern Europe in late summer is, as ever, layers with a waterproof jacket.

I did this same cruise in August and never had a day under 75F.
It was very hot in Stockholm and Helsinki, over 85 F.

In Tallinn and Oslo I wore shorts an T-shirt.

A friend of mine went a few months before me and had rain in 3 ports.

Go figure!

You get both and along the coast of Norway often horizontal rain.

As the OP (original poster) I want to thank everyone. I definitely understand that I need to be prepared for both warm and/or cool, plus rain.
I'm still wondering if there is a spray I can use on my water resistant jacket to make it water proof. Anyone?

There are lots of such sprays and products. Most are used to reestablish the water repellancy of clothes that were originally waterproof. Personally I would not have much faith in any product claiming to turn a water resistant garment into a waterproof one.
