August weather in Lauterbrunnen and B.O.?

I know, I know, these types of questions get asked a lot... I'm going to be in Lauterbrunnen in mid-August and planning to take leisurely hikes to the surrounding towns (Gimmelwald, Muerren, etc.). I've checked the weather averages and the weather in August seems to be very cold. Is this true? I'm unsure of what to expect and what type of clothes to pack.

Thanks for your help!

In 3 different August two-week hiking trips to that area, we've had more warm sunny weather than not, and most days we hiked in shorts and T-shirts. However, it can be cold and rainy on any one day, so you need to be prepared. Or you could hit one of those weather systems that brings day after day of cold and rain, like we did last year. And evenings are cool, even on the nice days. So in addition to hiking shorts, you should have long pants (or zip-offs), plus rain gear (Gore-tex jacket and pants) and a fleece jacket.
