Auberge du Presbytère Saignon - closed?

I was booked in May in a really sweet, small hotel in the Lubéron above Apt – Auberge du Presbytère, in Saignon. Got an email yesterday – because of a "force majeur," the hotel is "temporarily" closed and my reservation canceled.

Wondering about this, I called the Presbytère's main telephone number but it was disconnected. Called an alternate number and a cell number, and left a message but neither was returned.

I was able to rebook in a hotel in Apt, but does anyone know the reason for this closure?

Financial difficulties, and they don't sound temporary. I'm glad you found alternate lodging.

Here's a thread on it from another forum:

From the 'other forum'

Today I actually got an email reply from the Mairie de Saignon.
"Pour l’instant l’auberge fait l’objet d’une procédure collective, elle est fermée.
Nous n’avons pas plus d’informations
La commune n’est pas informée des suites de cette affaire privée."
(The Auberge is undergoing a court-ordered insolvency procedure and is closed.
We have no information.
The commune is not informed of the outcome of this private matter. )

They were so popular and always filled. Can't understand how they failed. A pity.
