Attire for Italy
 

I'm so excited I'm leaving in 3 days for our honeymoon to London, Florence, and Venice. One of my concerns is packing appropriately for the weather and for evening attire. Does anyone have any insight? I'm not concerned about Lonon ONLY Italy!

How about wearing linen? You can dress linen up or down with jewelry,scarves, wraps, etc. I know it wrinkles but I always end up taking my black peg linen pants, and a few tops with a linen jacket, add a few tshirts and some cotton pants and you are all set.

Be ready for hot and cold weather...you never know. Layers are always good.
In Italy usually people "dress up" so you can bring some nice dresses

I just got back from there Thursday. I wore lots of black dri-fit clothes. It breathes well, looks nice day or night. Washes easily in the sink, drys overnight. I bought Nike pants and tops and wore them constantly. Linen wrinkles too much for me. I brought other things (what a waste), it was VERY hot. London, was of course cool, but Florence and Venice, HOT! Have fun!!

For Italy, I'd bring a few pairs of Capri pants, a couple of summer skirts that could be worn during the day or for casual evenings, and 1-2 cocktail type dresses for fancier nights. I'd also bring along at least one summer weight sweater, and of course a bathing suit and sarong in case you head to the beach from Venice!

For London, I'd add a few pairs of long pants, ( one a dress pant for theatre, etc.) a sweatshirt, and either a light jacket or raincoat. And, if you have room to throw it in, a basic Fall skirt of some kind in case London is particularly chilly.
