ATM's Brussels airport
We would like to get some Euros as soon as we land from our flight from the US. Are there a lot of ATMs in the airport? Any tricks to using them?
Thanks Sue |

Yes - several. >>Any tricks to using them?<< No tricks - they work the same just about everywhere. Except you don't get to choose between checking and savings. It will draw money from your primary acct. |
It will draw money only from a checking account - so make sure your money is there.

Make sure that your PIN in only 4 digits. Many European ATMs don't accept longer PINs.
Also, take along a second ATM card just in case the first doesn't work or gets 'eaten' by the machine. |
Re the two previous comments:
Yes, many ATMs will take money out of a savings account -- IF the savings acct is the primary account. But for the vast majority of folks, checking is the primary. Also - it is no longer necessary to have a 4 digit PIN. That used to be the case but 5 or 6 digit PINs have worked for a few years now. PINs do need to be numeric though, The key pads don't have letters. |
There are 2 ATMs located in the arrivals hall, opposite the car rental desks. When you come out of arrivals turn right and they are located in that area. The arrivals area is fairly small although there are several levels.
