We've had some difficulty on this forum identifying ATMs at Heathrow that aren't operated by Travellex. BA (there's no such airline as "British Air") uses both T3 and T5
The puffery the airport churns out about "Most cash machines accept UK bank and building society cards without surcharge. They also accept major credit cards." may be accurate - but means bugger all for foreign visitors. Travellex-operated ATMs will rip you off on exchange rates. Guff about "no surcharge" is meaningless as far as foreign cards are concerned.
If a kind poster comes on and tells you there's a non-Travellex machine you can access in the terminal you're using, follow that advice. Otherwise consider using a machine operated by a proper bank wherever you're headed for, whether you need cash at all between LHR and there (I can't think of a single reason except an inability to wait a bit before scoring drugs) and, if you really do need immediate cash, whether it might be wiser to let Travellex make its excessive profit on only a small proportion of it.
