ATM's
Does anyone know about the availability of ATM's in Rome, Florence, and Como? Do they work by debiting a U.S. bank, as in Japan. Will a B of A card work? etc.

Michael:
These questions have been asked and answered many times on this site. Try doing a search. Just put "ATM" or "ATM Italy" etc in the search box and you should get plenty of info. Briefly there are lots of ATMs in the places you mention. They will take cards that are good at Cirrus or Star. You must have a 4 digit pin number. Numbers only, no letters, on Italian ATM machines. Its the best and cheapest way to get money in Italy.

Gerry

I did several searches, to no avail. So . . thanks for your info - It helps!

B of A cards work just fine in all European cities I've been in, Rome also, assuming the same in the other places you'll be visiting too. Just make sure it's a bank and not a "change" machine and use the guidelines noted above.

I just entered "atm" is the search box and got a list of over 100 postings on this in the last 3 months. Try doing that again if you need more details.
