ATM usage in Spain

Is there a limit on the amount of money that can be withdrawn at one time at ATM's in Spain?

Thanks!

There are 2 types of limits no matter what country you are in:

- the limit on your card itself
- the limit of the ATM

My bank will allow me to set whatever daily limit
I want. My wife's bank caps her at $500 a day.

Near where I live there are some ATMs with a per transaction limit of $500 and others with $1,000.

In Europe I have hit varying limits. But if you need more than the machine allows simply withdraw the max, remove your card and do another transaction. I have done as many as 3 without a problem.

With ATMs so plentiful you can always use a second or third if need be. Best let your bank know in advance in case this raises their suspicions though.

the limit is up to your own ATM issuer - talk to your bank if you want to increase the daily amount they allow you to withdraw.

"<i>the limit is up to your own ATM issuer </i>"

Only the <u>daily</u> limit is set by your bank. Not how much can be withdrawn <u>per transaction</u>.

Paris Amsterdam explained how it works.

The daily limit is set by your bank, the default limit being usually $350/day, but you can set your own limit, depending on how comfortable you feel. We've set the daily limit on our business ATM at $1300, but as already noted, the amount you can withdrawal at one time is limited to which ATM you're using.
