ATM Password in Spain

I heard somewhere that in spain the ATM's only take a four letter password. Mine currently is six letters. Is this true and if so do I change the password just for Spain or do I have to change my password entirely?

I'm not sure about your actual question, but I believe that ATM PINs throughout Europe are numerical only. So if yours is alphabetical, it is probably advisable to change it.

If it's only that , (i.e. numbers rather than letters), I wouldn't have to change it - only learn the numerical equivilant. But what I heard is that the ATM's in Spain take only 4 numbers for passwords not 6 as mine currently is. So what I'm asking is - is that true?

ATMs throughout Europe generally require a 4-digit, numeric PIN.

I believe someone here mentioned using only the first 4 digits of his 6-digit PIN and having that work, but I would not risk it. I would request a new PIN that is only four digits long. This would then apply to all transactions using your ATM card, at home or abroad.

Lesli's advice is the safest. Just change it to 4.
