ATM machines at CDG airport, Paris?

We are arriving into Terminal 2E and will need to buy Euros before leaving the airport.

Are ATM machines easily locatable and are there any issues with using them?

Merci

There are plenty of ATMs in all terminals at CDG.

No, there are no issues with using them.

Here's a 3-D view of terminal 2E showing the two ATM machines (marked HSBC). If they don't show, go to the top of the page, click on Services, then click on Distributeurs de Billets and they'll show up:

I second StCirqs comments. I have never had a problem locating an ATM at CDG. In the terminal where I usually land they are directly in front of you as you exit customs.

There are plenty of ATMs througout the terminals, all operated by HSBC, although I am beginning to wonder if the post office does not have one of its own machines available. But basically, HSBC has the current bank monopoly, and the contracts run for 10 years.

Are there any inside the terminal--to us during a layover?

I have used an ATM in the secure side of 2E last September. The only ATM I could find was Travelex (a partner of HSBC). The Travelex ATM instructions were very tricky. They phrased the instructions in a way to give an impression that if I didn't use dollar as a basis of withdrawal from my account(aka DCC), then all sorts of evil things would happen to me. The proposed exchange rate was outrageous, so it was clear it was a DCC. I read the instructions carefully and chose not so obvious options to extract cash while preventing Travelex from doing a "favor" of hitting my bank account with an inflated dollar figure. I checked my bank transaction record later to verify that I was not hit with a DCC.

I used an ATM at CDG earlier this month - it was outside the terminal, on the walk from 2B to the TGV station. I don't remember who operated it; I just checked my credit union statement and there is no indication of the name of the bank (I don't see "HSBC" anywhere).

The ATM instructions were not complicated. The only issue I had was I forgot to withdrawal an even number of euros; I chose 50 euros and got a single 50 euro note - thanks! I seem to do that every trip. Breaking a 50 euro note can be tricky if you're just buying water at a convenience store, but the Relay store at CDG did break it for me without hassle. In the future, I made 20 euro or 40 euro withdrawals instead. (I get an unlimited number of withdrawals and no fee is charged to use the ATM, so I could use an ATM as often as I liked.)

I was mostly in Germany on that trip, and I was asked at a few German ATMs whether I wanted the withdrawal to be in US dollars (Dynamic Currency Conversion = extra fee) and I always said "NO" of course - because there wasn't a "Hell No" option. I don't recall if the CDG ATM machine offered this rip-off or not. A number of hotels helpfully offered to stick me with this extra fee when charging my credit card as well. I don't ever recall being offered this on any past trip. Disturbing new trend...

I think jangita is asking about cash machines airside.
