IF you can find an intelligent bank rep at your bank, you can get them to set your daily withdrawal limit to whatever you and they agree on. I get mine raised from $300 to $500 regularly. But then you also have the issue of what an individual ATM machine in a particular country will dispense as well. Sometimes you need to go to more than one ATM machine and make multiple withdrawals, which works just fine.

Thanks guys for all the responses... I don't trust the bank reps either, but may stop in a branch to inquire about my daily limit, as I have at last found a knowledgable bank manager there! At least I THINK he is knowledgable, we shall see once we get to Paris and test his answers! thanks

There might be a per transaction limit of 200 E but just go onto a different bank to withdraw more. You can even make multiple withdrawals at the same machine. Your home bank may have a limit for per day withdrawals. Check with them to see what your limit is and have it raised if needed.

I also have a Gold MasterCard and have never even checked the limit on that.
