ATM in CDG?
 

We are flying into CDG and was wondering if there is an ATM before we pick up the car to drop us off at the hotel?<BR><BR>Should we pick up some euro's prior to leaving America?<BR><BR>Thanks

There is an ATM, but it never hurts to enter with euros. Besides, you may be able to get a better exchange rate here.

Unfortunately, Ms Halle Berry hotty does not know what she is talking about. There is absolutely no way you will get a better exchange rate at home than you can from the ATM machines in France. The exchange rate via ATM/credit cards is much better than you will get at home. If you want to pick up some euro in the States go ahead - but they will be expensive euro. There are several ATM machines right in the arrivals hall at CDG.

It is absolutely not necessary to pick up euros before leaving home despite what some others think.<BR><BR>1. You get a far far better rate using the ATM's.<BR><BR>2. I have heard the refrain well what if the ATM's are down? You should have crisp American cash, say $200 in 20's as a back up. You can always waltz over to the Exchange Bureau which will give you a far better rate than will the banks in America. <BR><BR>Waiting till you get there is just one other little thing that you need not concern yourself with when planning your trip.<BR><BR>Of course there are always the efficient types (no disrespect intended) who prefer to have everylittle detail planned in advance with such remarks as, "at least I will know in advance what things cost." Or the famous, "this will give me a chance to familiarize myself with the mooney." All noble thoughts but indeed expensive thoughts.<BR><BR>Don't worry...use the ATM's. They work and save you money.

We were people watching from our hotel in Rouen and saw one person after another rush up to the ATM across the street, try his/her card, and run past our hotel, going toward the business district. When the hotelier told us that the money couriers were on strike and all the ATM's had run out of cash, we were glad to have some expensive Euros in the back of our wallets. Extra cash never hurts.
