ATM Fees

Are there any ATM fees in Greece?

Thanks.

The fees are normally from your bank, so it depends what bank you have.

We have Wells Fargo and our bank charges us $5 an international withdrawal - doesn't matter how much we take out or where we are. Same $5. I'm not sure if this is steep or reasonable, but it added about $25 to our vacation, so I didn't worry about it.

No additional fees at Greek bank ATMs - just what your own bank and Visa/Mastercard charge. My bank (USAA) is now passing on a 1% foreign transaction fee levied by Mastercard, helpfully detailed at the bottom of the monthly statement.

Thanks for the replies. My bank don't charge me fees in the state but I wanted to know if the Greek banks charge.

Check your fine print. Just because your bank does not charge you fees in the states does not mean they will not charge you fees overseas.

Most banks (some Credit Unions exlcuded) will charge fees unless you use one of their "partner" banks.

Saps - I have been using this ATM internatioanlly for years and they have not charged me yet. I found out that my credit card started charging 3% this year.

Thanks,
Anat

would this not depend on whether you are using an ATM card or a credit card?
