ATM codes 4 or 6 digit?

I saw a note on another post that some ATMs had been converted to six digits from four. It was a long post, so I'm asking the question here from recent travelers through CDG and staying in Paris.
We just made sure our VISA cards had 4 digits. So now have they changed the machines?

Our French ATM card still has a four-digit PIN.

What about 6-digit pins? Will the machines anywhere in Europe take a card with a 6-digit pin? ((b))

I just got back from a trip to Germany and Austria. Before leaving I asked my bank (Bank of America) if my 6-digit pin would be a problem in Europe, and should I change to a 4-digit pin. They told me to just use the first 4 digits of my 6-digit pin. That worked with no problems.

Thanks. I'm not planning to bring cash or traveler's checks.

I have read that atms in the Czech Republic will accept PINs with any number of digits.

BofA is certainly flexible! Here I use a 4 digit..they told me to just add a 00 in front if the machine required 6
