Athens: Visits
Our Turkish Airlines flight gets in at Athens at about 10 am from Istanbul on 15 June 2007 according to the current schedule. We fly out to Heraklion by Aegean Airlines at 14:30 hours on 16 June 2007. We return to Athens at about 11 am from Heraklion on 23 June, and stay in Athens until 25 June morning when we fly out to Delhi, India.
Would it be worth arriving in Athens on 16 June (at 10 am) from Istanbul instead of on 15 June and take the Aegean Airlines flight from Athens airport the same day at 14:30 hours? We could then avoid the journey from and to the airport on 15 and 16 June. Instead, we could stay in Athens for an extra day and night on 25 June and leave for Delhi on 26 June. We planned to stay in Athens on 15 June in case our flight from Istanbul could not connect on the same day with the flight to Heraklion. Is it necessary to take this precaution with a 4 hour gap available? If we do stick to our current plan of arriving in Athens on 15 June and spending the night there as planned, can we make a suitable visit out of Athens straight from the airport at about 10 am, reaching our hotel in Athens at the end of this trip in the late afternoon instead? Hi
Yes very possible and makes more sense. We flew Istanbul to Athens to Paros. No problems. |
Hi cigalechanta, Couldn't quite follow the meaning of your response - "topping". Regards |
It does make sense to arrive on the 16th and leave from the same airport the same day and it would be so much more relaxing to have the extra day in athens at the end of your trip. Have a good trip.

cigalechanta wrote "topping" to bring your question to the top of the list so someone might answer it. It's a way of helping others when you don't know the answer. Others might write "ttt" (for to the top) or "bump" or type a simple sentence to accomplish the same favor.
