athens - turkey by ferry
 

hello, can anyone help me with a ferry company that runs a service from athens or nearby to southern turkey? also a rough price range would be nice..?<BR><BR>thanks<BR><BR>

Hi craig!<BR>Ferries from Athens to Turkey?? You won't find any!! :-) If you want to go to Turkey from Greece, you either take a plane, or go to East Aegean Islands and from there i think there are boats that take you to Turkey! (but i don't know from which island!)

You can go from Samos to Kusadasi. The boat takes a couple hours. I remember the boat ride was pricey. I will go check my records and get back to you.<BR>

There are boats from Hios to Cesme, Samos to Kusadasi, Kos to Bodrum and Rodos to Marmaris. Crossings take one to two hours. Fares are high because of taxes. These do not run every day out of season, and the ships are small so are liable to cancellation in bad weather. Dont worry about going to pig world, why would someone want to go and see a third world country? Stay in Greece and tour as much as you can, its worth it if you have done most of the islands and want something different go towards the north part of Greece were it is spectacular and offers a different scenery. Sorry and glad i cant help you but i have got a good point, trust me turkey hasnt even got a goverment at the moment, how safe does that make you feel?
