Athens to Santorini
 

I have a flight arriving Athens at 6:30pm on Lufthansa. What is the chances the flight would arrive late?
I need to book a transportation to get to Santorini from Athens. Should I book a 9:00 pm flight? or an earlier flight?

I haven't done this transfer myself but even 9:00 seems tight. Landing at 6:30 doesn't mean you deplane at 6:30, add to that luggage pick up, immigration if you didn't come from another EU country, checking in, back through security, and to new gate. Too tight for comfort. If it was on the same ticket I'd do it because it removes some of the steps, but not if it's through separately booked tickets.

Ryanair has a 11pm flight from Athens to Santorini.
As to me, I would take a bus from Athens airport to Rafina, sleep there and reach Santorini by slow ferry Rafina dp 7.50 - Santorini ar 17.45, resp by catamaran Rafina dp 7.15 - Santorini ar 12.00.

Absolutely no way to predict. However the probability of a flight being late at the end of the end is greater than at the beginning of the day. I would not book an earlier unless it was on the same ticket.

I will be flying in from Rome. I suppose I don't need to go through immigration. Thank you
