Athens taxi fares
 

Can you tell me what taxi fares to expect during the summer season for 2 people from the cruise port to the Electra Palace Hotel (Plaka area) and then from the hotel to the airport. The airport one will be in the wee hours of the morning to catch a 7 AM flight. Thank you.

From our city center hotel to the airport (at 4 am) the cost was 29 euro last September.

I don't know what the fare will be from the port but hopefully someone else here will.

Also, perhaps you could email the hotel as there's a chance they might be able to provide the details.

In May 2005 from Hotel Attalos to the airport at 4 AM we paid 30 euros.
From the port at rush hour it was 25 euros.
Two years ago that same trip from the port was 20 euros but that was mid afternoon.

Stanbr here you are again. I am in the same boat. How do you place a request or reservation for a cab to airport? Would the hotel provide that for you? I just e-mailed a cab service and quote was 55 Euro. Has to leave Athens (center) hotel about 4:30 am. Thank you again.

Thanks - that is what I needed to know. My TA was going to book a private car for us for MUCH more!! A taxi will be just fine, thank you. :-)

Yes the hotel can book your taxi - no problem without charge. If you're more adventurous do you guys know there are metro connections to Piraeus and the airport - not open early hours of course. Much cheaper.
