Athens private taxi driver
Has anyone ever used Spiros the taxi driver? What are his rates for day tours? Is he expensive? Can you recommend someone for private tours and transfers? Thanks in advance.

I used his service to get from the airport to our hotel. Didn't get "Spiros" but one of his many drivers. Our driver said Spiros has made so much money off his links on the Internet that he rarely drives anymore and has several houses. My sense was that while it was nice to have an English speaking driver, most of the taxis I took had english speaking drivers and were much less. Hotel ride to airport was 1/2 the price coming. Way over priced. Can't help you with the day tours...

Watch these private guys. We got ripped off as well. They charge you alot more. You are better just to go it yourself especially when it comes to these "private days taking you around".

We were in Greece last year. We met up with a taxi driver that was really nice, his name was Sotos.He was very patient and showed us many of the sights, even waited for us while we shopped in the pouring rain. We used him twice.<BR><BR>We are going back to Athens on June 15-18, so if that is when you are going, we plan on using him. If you are interested, please let me know when you plan to be there and I will e-mail you his cell phone number (hope it is still the same!)<BR>
