LeslieC, thank you for the update. Yes, the daytime temperatures have been considerably cooler, at least historically, around 20-25ºC and with more clouds, so we have that in our favor. We have real hiking shoes and DH has poles, too. :)

We returned last evening from our Athens holiday. Though a trip report is a few days in the making, I do want to thank everyone who encouraged a slow and steady approach to our sightseeing. DH (with his rubber-tipped hiking poles) conquered the Acropolis and everything else in Athens without problem. :)
