Athens for the day
 

: Will be (6 of us) visiting Athens in June via Princess Cruise. Price of excursions are $$$$$$ for 8 via Princes. Does anyone know of any tour guide or Taxi service that could be contacted for a one day tour for our group that would only cost us one arm and a leg?<BR><BR>

Try greektravel.com and page down to find info on 'eorge the famous taxi driver'. No, I don't work for them and am not in any way related to anybody having anything to do with that site! I hired them (it wasn't George, but a friend of his) for some transfers in Athens and it all worked out fine.

John:<BR><BR>You did the right thing. George is the greatest guy. He lived in NY and is the easiest person in the world to work with. His wife's name is Loula and if you let her or him know what you want to do and see--sit back and enoy the experience.

George the taxi driver may have good service but the truth is that he is very expensive. Too much money.

Watch out for those taxi drivers. They will charge you by the hour for the tour. You can, however, buy them by the hour just to drive you to the place you want(no tour information). Take a book and read yourself.

Well Good Old George was the best deal and I would recamend him any day.
