Athens -Crete:overnight boat & guides available?

Hi,
We will be spending 3-4 days each in Athens and Crete in nearly Nov. hoping for ok weather and that sites still open.Has anyone used guides in either place. Can you recommend someone?
Also is there an overnight boat from Athens to Crete.
I'd appreciate some information.
Thanks for any help!

This website:

http://www.gtp.gr/RoutesResults.asp?...ion=EGRC,446,3

will show you that there are many overnight ferries to the various ferry ports on Crete:

The two most popular routes are from Athens/Piraeus to Chania and Athens/Piraeus to Heraklio. For these two there are ferries leaving every day.

Thanks for the info, looks like there are a few choices.Do you have any idea about the accommodations? Price? couldn't tell that from the website?
Thanks,
CCF

The two main companies running overnight ferries to Crete are ANEK (www.anek.gr) and Minoan Lines (www.minoan.gr). Their web sites give full details of the fares for the different accommodation on the ships.
