Athens Appartments

Can anyone recommend an appartment in Athens for week stay.
My wife and I with 3 teenage daughters will be in Athens early December, any tips? What is the most economical transport from the airport?

I don't know what they are like, but a couple of years ago when I was looking at short stay Athens apartment, I contacted someone who was advertising in the Athens paper. The e-mail address is [email protected]
As for economical transport from the airport, one hopes that the metro will be running to and from the airport then, in which case that would be easiest. There are also buses that run very regularly to Syntagma Square in the center of Athens.

There is a frequent bus (#E95) from the airport to Syntagma Square. It costs just under 3 Euro. #E96 goes to Piraeus if you want to catch the ferry directly from the airport, same price.

Around mid-july there will be a new metro link from the airport to Syntagma!!...and from Syntagma you can reach any area of Athens as the new tram will be as well operational.

I've read that there's a possibility the Metro link to the airport won't be completed in time for the Olympics in August. I truly hope this is misinformation, but who knows for sure?

Hi Bro,
the new metro linking Syntagma to the airport was presented yesterday ,brand new, fully a/c,with luggage storage facilities .
They are testing the equipment and the operation will be opened to the public july the 15 th rates 6 to 8 eur.
This new metro line (underground) will use the same rails, beyond a certain point ,as the brand new train wich will link the Airport to the Olympic stadium.

That's very good news. This will make things a lot easier for everyone. Just imagine the problems during the Olympics if it was not completed.
